Building and maintaining healthy self-esteem requires self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. One’s social well-being makes an impact on mental health, affecting how one thinks, feels, and acts, and influences the ability to cope with stress, relate to others, and make choices. Let’s have these important discussions for ourselves and for our loved ones.
Speaker bio: Dr. Michael Sheehan received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marquette University before receiving his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. Louis University.
After positions with NIMH and the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and as a clinical psychologist in South Bend, Dr. Sheehan invented and developed The Self-Esteem Game©. Over 40,000 games have been sold to therapists, teachers, and parents.
During his 40+ years private practice in clinical psychology, Dr. Sheehan conducted therapy sessions, developed employee assistance programs, led organizational development engagements, developed the protocol and ran the first Notre Dame drug screening program for athletes, started the non-profit American Combat Veterans With War Trauma, and founded CAID (Child Advocate In Divorce) which provides parenting classes for the St. Joseph County Courts for divorcing parents.
