Brain Basics: How fear and isolation have changed our brains

The world changed in March 2020 as we went into “lockdown mode” and people began to live drastically different lives, some staying home—completely locked away from others not in their “bubble”—while others, for example those in essential services, continued to leave the house daily facing new challenges such as PPE and shortages. This widely varied experience has created different emotional and behavioral responses that affect ourselves, our families, our teams and our customers. For example, how have your customers changed their buying behavior and what have you done to meet that changing behavior? Do your teams have new expectations about flexibility or how their work gets measured?

For this interactive workshop we will explore the important role of CER’s (conditioned emotional responses), unconscious learning, and habit patterns and discuss how we can use this understanding to better adapt the uncertainty that is certain to be just around the corner.
