About Ramal Taylor, owner of Bright Beginnings Family Childcare and financial coach to women entrepreneurs

Ramal Taylor is the proud owner and Director of Bright Beginnings Childcare located just south of downtown South Bend.  BBC provides childcare services with a focus on building family and community.  She brings a unique perspective to this industry by providing onsite extra-curricular activities, community events for families, free parenting and financial classes and amenities busy parents need.  Ramal believes you can’t just provide high quality childcare to be most effective; you must support families and build community to teach children love and love of learning.  Ramal is very passionate about her mission at BBC and redefining the childcare industry culture and believes no parent should have to choose between cost, convenience and quality—all three should be accessible.

With this vision, Ramal grew Bright Beginnings from one home childcare program to three after just 13 months.  Less than 2 years later she purchased commercial property and expanded her services to offer care to more families.

Ramal studied Economics and Finance at IUPUI in Indianapolis where she lived for 10 years.  She had a career in banking, lending, and finance before starting her own childcare business.  During her time in Indy, she was licensed as a Therapeutic Foster Parent and she fostered many children—from a special needs infant to teen moms!  It was an amazing experience and really helped to birth Ramal’s desire to make an impact helping children and supporting families.

As an entrepreneur, Ramal has completed the SPARK program, through the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative of Saint Mary’s College, where she has also been a class facilitator.  She has also been a judge for the JAG Career Development Conference, mentored many current and aspiring business owners, and has a passion for women entrepreneurship and building the South bend minority economy.  Through her work with the community and Bright Beginnings Childcare, she can do that and more!

Ramal lives in South Bend and has 2 amazing children—Kamrey (6 years old) and Kamron (4 years old).
